Meet Kathleen
Hi, I'm Kathleen Rainey. Music education has been at the heart of my career for nearly two decades.
I completed my Bachelor of Music in 2006 and graduated from Queen's Faculty of Education in 2007. Since then, I have taught in both private and public education across Ontario, Alberta, and Ecuador, taking on leadership roles throughout my career.

Yes — that's exactly who it's built for. I've spent over 20 years teaching students of all ages, and the beginner course assumes no musical background at all. We start with how to hold, assemble and care for your flute, and by the end you'll play your very first song.
Beginner Flute Lessons is a live 8-week group course, 45 minutes a week, online. It's the best place to start if you're beginning from scratch and like learning alongside others. Private lessons are 60 minutes, one-on-one, in person or online — built entirely around your goals, your experience and the way you learn.
All lessons start the week of September 14th. The first live class for Studio Members is Saturday, September 26th.
Yes — you'll need a flute to practise on. If you don't have one yet, I'll help you find a flute when you sign up for lessons. Everything else, I'll walk you through.
The beginner course runs online, as a 45-minute group class each week. Private lessons are available either in person or online — whichever suits you.
Beginner Flute Lessons — 8 weekly payments of $25, or $200 paid in full. Private Flute Lessons — 14 weekly payments of $50, or $700 paid in full. Studio Membership — $25 a month, cancel anytime. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
Yes. They're separate enrolments, so you're welcome to take the beginner course and join the Studio Membership alongside it. The course teaches you the fundamentals week by week; the membership keeps you supported between terms.
